Art
Center ...designed to enjoy creative
arts, craft and construction activities based on the curriculum.
Computer Center (3 years & up)...individually
equipped with a state-of-the-art computer that includes CD-ROM.
Children are able to take advantage of computer programs that
are designed to accompany reading, math, science, and social studies.
Dramatic Play Area...encourages
social development. Children learn to barter, to share, and to solve
problems that deal with the feelings of others. Language skills
and creativity are fostered as children develop a life situation
that leads to language usage and story development. Literature also
becomes meaningful to children as their stories are acted out in
dramatic play.
Blocks Center...applies
math and science through an interaction of structure and balance.
Sizes and spatial relationships are explored. As a result, the more
abstract math of the future will make more sense and a concrete
frame of reference will be established here.
Science Center...allows
opportunities for observation, experimentation, and problem solving
to occur.
Library Center...is
a peaceful, comfortable place where children can stretch out with
a good book and travel the world through its pages. Literacy is
encouraged as the children explore the printed word. A love for
books and reading, as well as respect for books and reading materials
is fostered here. We also make class books and place them in our
library so that the children may read their own words. |
